I am most content when in the midst of a mosaic art project, where I combine broken bits and create a whole new thing with colors and shapes that please me.

Mosaic artist west of Austin. Email me at silvahayes@gmail.com with any questions you have.
I began this blog in 2008 to document mosaic projects starting with stair risers. Stained glass, broken pottery, vintage jewelry, tiles, and found objects.
I paint with oils, acrylics, and silk threads and have done wall murals in homes around Lake Travis.
Every day I do something that involves MOSAICS -- it's my passion, along with family and friends. I use stained glass, broken china, tiles, vintage jewelry, and other 'found' objects. If you have a question email me. I research glues, substrates, grouting, indoor vs. outdoor and all aspects of mosaic art. Email: silvahayes@gmail.com.
