Artemis 2

Almost every piece of tess came from Suzan Germond's studio closing.  I found the mannequin bust there.  The green skin was a large hand-made, hand-painted urn, made of several different thicknesses that had to be accommodated, and part of it was broken and lost.  I took a chance on having enough of it to go around, and sure enough, I ran out and had to make do underneath both arms.  This was after including the huge butterfly tattoo on her back.   The bodice was a gorgeous (but broken) ceramic bowl, black and white on the outside and fabulous glazes on the inside.  The bowl was so beautiful inside and out, I had to make a decision on each piece as to which side of it to use.  A cut-work dark green ceramic dome completes the bodice.  From my own stash, I added:  a shed antler found out back of the house, which I stained and waxed, the runes and the cross.

The butterfly is awesome. And the flowers almost look like tatoos on the skin.

Cool piece! Lots of work too.

Thank you so much, Ramona. This piece was quite a challenge.
