We just returned from Galveston Island; had a great time. It poured rain all the way there but in Galveston, the sun was shining and there was a cool breeze. I found a mannequin at a resale shop there; my next project. I have been wanting to do a mosaic similar to a stenciled wall that I saw in a restaurant in Austin, (Fonda San Miguels) but I didn't know what the style was. I searched on Google for "fantasy floral" and the style I like so much is Jacobean. I've seen it many times in beautiful crewel work on upholstery. I envision that she will be done in stained glass, with a dark, mostly black background and colorful, fantastical flowers and leaves. Here's an example.
I am close to being done with the second mosaic torso. I took a chance when I chose to do her skin with the green vase; it was close, but I did run out before I got her covered, so I had to substitute. Hope to finish this week. The last guitar is languishing in a corner, ready to be grouted. The man who had me re-do the large lizard mirror - he has a smaller, similar one that he also wants done and it was delivered yesterday. I am teaching a class this Saturday and my supplies are shamefully disorganized, so I need to spend some time cleaning and getting things in order. Today was math tutoring Monday, and I have a dental appointment Wednesday, so I will probably not get much mosaic work done this week.

That looks like some of the embroidery patterns available for my sewing machine.
Going to be a pretty mosaic.
Yes. That's one way I found some images on Google, by asking for Jacobean embroidery. It's going to be pretty, but probably difficult. I will simplify it a lot, and it's hard to visualize, but it will be on a black background. I am ready to start!
Can't wait to see your pictures. Have fun with it.
